Discover Yoga at your own pace

The aim of my classes is to try and make yoga accessible to all: to welcome and teach yoga in a safe and comfortable space. I truly believe that every ‘body’ can practice yoga and experience the benefits of movement, breath and meditation. In my classes and workshops I try my best to encourage students to try variations of postures and find an option which allows them to experience yoga in way that works for their body. I am currently offering online classes, in studio classes, 1:1s, workshops, CPD Trainings and Retreats in Edinburgh. I specialise in all forms of Vinyasa yoga, including Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow. I also teach more gentle and therapeutic forms of practice; including Restorative, Yin, Chair based exercise, yoga for Seniors, Pregnancy and Postnatal Yoga.

ABOUT

Meet Joanne

Joanne Ewen Yoga

I began practicing many years ago in Edinburgh and from my first beginners' course I knew it sparked something special. At the time I worked full-time in the financial sector and was balancing this with lots of fitness training/teaching. I loved to run and taught many forms of group exercise at weekends and in the evenings. Over the years I started to explore not only Ashtanga yoga but also experimented with other traditions such as, Hatha, Iyengar and as more and more Vinyasa styles started to emerge, I played around with variations.

Reviews

I have been a student of Joanne’s for a good few years now and can’t recommend her highly enough. I have done Vinyasa Flow classes, Ashtanga Led classes and she has assisted me in the Mysore rooms. All levels are catered for. Joanne is not only knowledgable, helpful, and thorough; she is friendly, warm, and a general joy to be around. Always encouraging you when you are ready, adjusting you that little bit further, but also mindful if you are working with an injury or sometimes just not running on full speed. I always look forward to a class with Joanne so here is to many more hours of fun, flow and learning. Thank you for being part of my yoga journey.
